Journeying

June 27, 2018Carlana Charles
Some days it’s hard not to think about destination delays. Especially when you have a plan for your life and that plan seems to be derailing. And then I am reminded that it’s not about the destination. It’s about the lessons and stories gathered on the journey.

I’m learning to trust the process. I believe that the Divine is with me and His thoughts towards me are beautiful. I believe that I am walking in alignment with His higher purpose for my life. I’m coming to the understanding that at some point of the journey, I’m not going to understand it all. Things will shift. I’m likely to feel broken open. The plot twists won’t make sense. The setbacks will be heartbreaking. The road may even seem to be crumbling under me. I may end up questioning and sometimes second-guessing myself.

I’m digging my heels in, holding firm. I may not understand how it all unfolds but I do know that the disappointments and setbacks will inevitably work in my favor. It’s all part of the journey.
Journeying is the act of traveling from one place to another – not the moment of arrival – Bernadette Jiwa.
